Nathan Sager began his American dream as a hairstylist in Beverly Hills at the age of 26. Prior to moving to California, Nathan lived in Israel where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering, but deep down he desired to live a much more creative and fulfilling life. He set his sights on mastering the art of Hairdressing, where he could apply the laws of civil engineering (strength and structure, degrees and angles) to his love for doing hair. He successfully married structured haircuts with texture cutting techniques to create a multitude of versatile up to date looks. His unique cutting style and deep understanding of hair and texture coupled with his impeccable taste, make him the sought after go to guy for today’s hair fashion in Hollywood. He works with many of Hollywood’s elite, from a list celebrity to stay at home house managers.
Nathan mastered greater innovation in cutting hair at the Rusk Academy in the 90’s where he learned the art of texturing from the head principal Cynthia French, the two naturally hit it off and have been long time partners ever since.
After 10 years of working at Juan Juan Salon and 2 years of working alongside Anastasia of Beverly Hills, Nathan and his wife Cynthia out grew this space and opened their own namesake salon, Sager French on Robertson Blvd, which they successfully ran for 17 years. After a temporary relocation to Beverly Hills, Sager French for Hair has reopened on Robertson Blvd, in September 2018.
Nathan’s clients never fail to feel sexy and confident after seeing him. His passion and dedication shines through in his work and in their loyalty. Nathan visionary growth mindset puts him at the top as an artist, engineer, and business owner for many years to come.
Cynthia is a no-hype kind of person who has years of experience behind the scenes and behind the chair. She believes through hard work and determination everyone can be the best version of themselves.
Cynthia French knew she wanted to be a hairdresser at an early of 15, when British invasion and MTV hit in the 80’s. Influenced by creative artists like David Bowie and Madonna. Cynthia pushed boundaries with her own style and knew she needed a career that could sustain that. Cynthia attended Pivot Point Beauty College while she was still in High school and set out on a career in beauty. You could say it was in the blood as her grandfather was a successful barber in the 50’s and 60’s, so her family held the career in high regard, driving them to support her decision.
With her license in hand Cynthia sought out to learn from the best in the industry, Vidal Sassoon Salon in Chicago where she learned the art of the precision geometric haircutting.
Following her pursuit to stay current and stay on top of the ever changing hair world, she sought out the Rusk Company, a revolutionary education based cutting company and quickly became key member of the prestigious creative team alongside Irvin and Louise Rusk, setting trends for the industry and educating stylists worldwide.
Cynthia was appointed the Senior Principal position at The Rusk Advanced Academy in West Hollywood, which she held up until partnering with husband, Nathan Sager.
Together they collaborated with Anastasia to open Anastasia of Beverly Hills and worked as a team. Cynthia decided to focus on color while Nathan focused on cuts, which gave her more creative freedom for change. Their partnership was instantaneously successful and in 1997 they opened their own namesake salon, Sager French on Robertson Blvd. After a short relocation in 2015, Sager French for Hair was recreated, on Robertson in September 2018.
Cynthia is considered a true artist with a passion for hair, and her creative vision and technical know-how has kept her diverse clientele, coming back to her time and time again.
